‘Borat’

Raptor facts

The second largest falcon in the world, the Saker can range from a dark brown to a beautiful blond colour. Sakers are migratory birds & many falconers lose even experienced birds due to this natural instinct. The favoured bird of arab falconers, Sakers are used to hunt ‘Houbara’ (the Mcqueens Bustard). They consider the Houbara an aphrodisiac so it is highly prized by arab men!

In ancient falconry only Kings were allowed to own the magnificent Gyr Falcon.
The stunning white Gyr Falcons mainly originate from Greenland & vagrants often turn up on the British Isles.
They are the largest and most powerful of falcons & probably the fastest in level flight. They prefer to pursue their prey low & fast rather than with a huge stoop.
