Size: Length (86-109cm/34-43in) wingspan (180-220cm/72-90in)
Status: 5,000 pairs
Habitat: River and coastal areas (North America).
Reproduction: 1-2 eggs from November to June. 40 day incubation
Diet: Mainly fish, also waterfowl and some carrion

Raptor Facts

The Bald Eagle is the national emblem of the United States Of America. They do not go bald. The name is derived from ‘piebald’ which means black and white. They are the biggest nest builder of any bird of prey. One nest recorded weighed 2.5 tonnes!
